Chi Zhang is a young composer, conductor, calligrapher and poet. He has studied composition under Dr. Niccolo Athens, Prof. Xiang Min, and Prof. Jia Guoping.

His was awarded the 1st prize of the 12th Italy Amigdala International Composition Competition; 1st prize of the 11th Sibelius International Composition Competition; 1st prize of the 33rd Italy “Città di Barletta” International Composition Competition; 2nd prize of the 7th Vienna World Composers Championship, among other domestic and international awards. He has also set records as the youngest winner in multiple competitions.

Zhang's compositions have been premiered by renowned ensembles such as Ensemble L'Itinéraire, Mila Quartet, Qingxin Chamber Ensemble, Zhejiang Jade Guzheng Ensemble etc. Additionally, he has extensively explored arranging and composing choral and vocal works across genres such as classical, traditional folk, musical, and popular music. His scores have been published by the People's Music Publishing House.
